Dr Theo Auricht
Dr Theo Auricht was born and bred in Hahndorf and lived in the original house on Auricht Road, which still stands. He was a physician who cared for his patients and was an active community citizen. He was well-known locally and nationally for his contribution to the medical profession. He was the author of Medicine Beyond Kokoda, an account of his experiences in Papua New Guinea. He was a solo surgeon, obstetrician, general practitioner, epidemiologist, and educator. He pioneered problem-oriented recording and developed the RACGP’s blue book.
He has extensive experience treating adult and paediatric ear, nose, and throat conditions, including nasal and sinus surgery. He is the only fellowship-trained laryngologist in Adelaide and has extensive experience in diagnosing and managing voice disorders. He has presented his research nationally and internationally and has an ongoing interest in head and neck cancer and novel reconstructive techniques.
Sam is committed to delivering quality patient care and has public appointments at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and Flinders Medical Centre. He has a wide range of surgical skills, special interests in facial plastics and reconstructive surgery and has completed advanced training in paediatric otology (ear infections, hearing loss, tinnitus). He also conducts outreach specialist ENT clinics in Port Augusta and Coober Pedy. He is committed to teaching and has lectured widely on sinus, head, and neck tumours. He is also passionate about the role of the microbiome and improving Aboriginal ear health.

After graduating from Adelaide University in 1980, Lindy did postgraduate hospital and city locums before moving to Kingston SE with her husband, where they built up a very successful rural practice that was the sole GP for 18 years with the full spectrum of rural medicine – own hospital/accident & emergency/obstetric shared care and general treatment. During this time, her interest in nutritional/integrative medicine had its inception and has grown ever since.
Lindy works two days a week at Stirling Clinic Doctor Adelaide Hills and visits a group practice in the hills where she continues to develop her skills in Integrative medicine/hormonal health. Her philosophy is that modern allopathic medicine has its place, and in many cases, skilful allied health practitioners can form a part of a team approach to help you get well.
Lindy is also a founding member of a women’s swimming group in Hermanus called the Cool Girls, who meet each Saturday morning for a refreshing swim. The group started in memory of her mother, who died two years ago from cancer. The swimmers are aged 35 to 92 and come from all walks of life, but they all have one thing in common: They love the outdoors and enjoy socialising.
